Harvesting
Harvest by pinching the top few leaves and/or flowers continuously throughout the season to promote growth and maintain desired size. The whole plant can be used for culinary or medicinal purposes. Leaves are popular in chicken dishes, cold or hot infusions. Dried leaves retain their aroma and flavour well to use throughout the year. Medicinally it is valued for its apoptogenic, anti-stress, immune boosting and anti-diabetes properties.
Garden Tip
Allowing a few plants to flower provides valuable nectar for pollinators, while collecting seeds ensures you can continue growing Tulsi year after year.
